Aalay helps you discover temples, history, stories and visit information.

Google sign-in

If you choose Google login, Google shares your basic profile and email with Supabase Authentication to create and secure your Aalay account. We do not request access to your Gmail inbox. Native sessions use device secure storage; the website stores its session in browser storage.

Families and age screening

Before optional Google sign-in, Aalay asks for an age group. The device stores only whether the selected group is under 13 or 13 and older; no birth date or exact age is transmitted to our backend. Children under 13 use guest discovery and local bookmarks without an Aalay sign-in account. Optional account access, external links and sharing in the Android app are screened before use; external video on the website loads only after an eligible age choice. Parents should use their own device for bookings and external services. We do not offer child account creation or claim parental consent through this screen. Parents can contact aalayapp@gmail.com about any account information submitted by a child. Do not submit a child’s personal information through support or editorial uploads.

Saved temples

Your bookmarks, language and appearance preferences remain in your browser or device. They are not currently synchronized to your account. You can clear them from My Profile.

Content and maps

Temple information and photographs load from Supabase. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap and the map library loads from its CDN. These services receive ordinary network request information. If you tap Near me, Aalay asks your device for its location once to work out how far temples are from you. Your exact position stays in memory on your device, is used only for distance estimates and is never stored. To find temples near you, Aalay asks its server for the temples inside a rectangular area around you, so the server can tell your approximate area (no account, device identifier or IP address is stored with it). You can refuse or revoke the permission at any time and the rest of Aalay still works. Aalay does not request your contacts, camera or microphone. Aalay records aggregate app opens, map opens and temple guide views to improve the collection. These counters do not store IP addresses, device identifiers or your account ID. Counts are not unique visitor measurements. No advertising is included.

Temple Trails contributions

Verified Google users can submit temples and visit experiences. We store submissions, review status and feedback against your account. Approved experiences and your chosen display name are public; your email is not displayed. Temple suggestions are reviewed before becoming public listings. Points and badges are calculated from approved contributions. Approval notifications are stored in your profile; these are in-app updates, not push notifications or email. You can withdraw experiences and pending suggestions in My Profile. Reports are visible to curators, and blocking hides an author’s experiences from your account. Contributions, reports, blocks and notification history are deleted with your account; published temple listings may remain as editorial content without your account identity.

Admin content

Only accounts explicitly granted admin access can publish content and upload temple photos. Uploaded public photos include their stated author and rights information. Administrative edits and access changes are recorded in an audit. The platform owner can see account names, emails, registration dates and last sign-in dates to manage the service. Email-based admin access requires a verified Google account.

Account deletion and questions

You can delete your Aalay sign-in account yourself from My Profile in the app or on the account deletion page. If you cannot sign in, contact aalayapp@gmail.com from the address used to sign in. Uninstalling the app does not delete the sign-in account. Clearing device preferences removes local bookmarks, not your account.
